My students, which have been with me since last year, were thrilled with the materials and this has allowed them to review their past knowledge in order to make new projects that impact their learnings. Every week, we review grammar content, vocabulary and new verbs that is used to make a project based activities on their own interests.\r\nMy students were very happy when I showed them their materials, but they are high schoolers so you might know they don't like appearing in photos (lol!) so I promised them I would cover their faces. They could not believe someone that was not the school would donate without knowing them.\r\nI am extremely happy to tell you that some of them already asked me to plan a trip to France this summer and they want to start practicing their French. This all along has been my goal, to open their minds into the world. \r\nAlso, I have a school in Mexico where I used to work with kindergartners, so in one of our projects, we did a children's book using the vocabulary, and we got connected by zoom so they would teach them French by reading their stories. The students were excited (both of them!) and very attentive to my students telling their stories. \r\nThis experience was amazing because they lost the fear of public speaking for the sake of the kids!\r\nI wish we could have more funding for schools because they are the future of our society and we get very limited resources, so your contribution to this project has made a huge impact to us. I cannot thank you enough and will sure be praying that God gives you back 10 times more than you have given us. God bless you and be sure that this materials will be well used not only this year but the years to come!","fullyFundedDate":1754565318232,"projectUrl":"project/a-new-language-a-new-opportunity/9246038/","projectTitle":"A New Language a New Opportunity","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sanchez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9306314_orig.jpg?crop=1200,1200,x0,y200&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761769376980","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9306314"},{"teacherId":9131965,"projectId":7599733,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students were able to experience their first year in the art classroom with excitement, exploration, and access to real materials that helped bring their ideas to life. The charcoal, watercolor sets, acrylic paints, mixed media paper, and brushes allowed students to experiment with tools many of them had never used before. These supplies didn't just support skill-building, they sparked confidence, curiosity, and a sense of ownership over their creative growth.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful moments came during our portrait unit. A student who was usually quiet and unsure about her work lit up when she was introduced to charcoal for the first time. She said it made her feel like a \"real artist.\" Another group created expressive mixed media pieces using watercolor and colored pencil, layering color and texture in a way that truly showed their personal stories. These weren't just assignmentsthey were forms of healing, pride, and empowerment.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students now know their creative voices matter. Their work was celebrated in classroom galleries, shared with families, and even displayed in the school. This project laid the foundation for how I'll continue building my classroom each year: one where students feel equipped, supported, and seen.
