Their events require a great deal of study and, thanks to you, they will be able to keep their materials organized and will be able to prepare with flashcards. Having basic classroom supplies like kleenex, paper towels, sanitizer, paper, pens, etc. makes is much more comfortable in the classroom. Student comfort is essential to the learning process. \r\n\r\nAlready all of the UIL Academics teams for the 2025/2026 competition have prepared their flashcards and binders and are already getting well into the study materials. We recently completed the first round of the Virtual Challenge Meet and both of my teams placed in the Top 20 out of all teams at their level in 4A Competition! Once the results come in from the second round, I'm sure we will have advanced to the Top 10. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your support of my classroom and my UIL teams this year.","fullyFundedDate":1753902009631,"projectUrl":"project/ap-classroom-supplies/9492962/","projectTitle":"AP Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tellez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp387297_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628691620511","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/387297"},{"teacherId":387297,"projectId":9343079,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the generous donations that funded our AP curriculum materials. My students are already showing great progress and excellent potential. With your donations, I was able to purchase a set of curriculum that includes slides, activities, writing prompts and more. My students read through the slides while taking Cornell notes. The additional activities give them the chance to process the material in a variety of ways. Differentiation is essential to a successful AP Classroom experience and your donations have provided that for us. \r\n\r\nMy students are very excited about the hands-on activities that came with the curriculum. From sorting activities that use the process of total physical response - which is proven to allow them to retain more information - and problem solving skills, to the writing activities that allow them to explore their own thoughts about history. There are also debate-style discussions that are student-led, which gives students the chance to explore multiple sides of an issue and to perform multiple aspects of a socratic seminar. We've had some very interesting discussions that sparked some amazing analysis on the part of my students. \r\n\r\nThey also appreciate the included games that allow them to satisfy their drive for knowledge and competitive skills as they practice US history. They are so engaged that they don't feel as though they are working hard, but they are definitely improving their understanding of history and increasing their potential for success on the AP Exam in May.","fullyFundedDate":1747178937042,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-freshmen-succeed-at-ap-human-ge/9343079/","projectTitle":"Help our Freshmen Succeed at AP Human Geography","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tellez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp387297_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628691620511","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/387297"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12117","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":923,"numTeachers":81,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":26,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":62,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":12117,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Taylor High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Taylor High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/taylor-independent-school-district/taylor-high-school/12117"}
