Recently, keeping students excited about independent reading has been a challenge, but your generosity has provided the perfect spark. With these new titles, I am developing interactive curriculum lessons that deeply connect our students to literature. Most importantly, these resources allow my students to bridge the gap between whole-class instruction and independent choice. After we explore a text together for our curriculum, they can confidently pull that same book off the shelf to explore it on their own. You have made reading accessible, exciting, and meaningful for us!\r\nUpon reflecting on previous years, I realized that every year I have a few students who need more of a challenge. I chose the house-building CVC blocks to spark that interest, and my students who can already sound out words love using them for a fun challenge.\r\n\r\nIn addition to books and CVC builders, I picked out some alphabet rocks! I've been using them in small groups, and the plan is to move them over to the sand table once we go over how to use them properly. The kids are obsessed with how the rocks feel and had so much fun hunting for the letters in their names.","fullyFundedDate":1778114762615,"projectUrl":"project/library-reconstruction/10164467/","projectTitle":"Library Reconstruction","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Barlow","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5329243_orig.jpg?crop=1145,1145,x28,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776364517293","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-bbarlow"},{"teacherId":6583817,"projectId":10219583,"letterContent":"My students will be using the new resources every day during reading, writing, math, and small-group activities.
