My students use them during centers and small-group activities to build towers, houses, bridges, and other creative structures. One special classroom moment was watching students work together to build a large structure, taking turns adding pieces and helping one another when their designs fell down. They were excited to rebuild and try new ideas.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were immediately eager to explore. They touched, stacked, connected, and experimented with the different pieces. Their excitement naturally turned into learning as they discovered how shapes, sizes, and structures work together.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue using these building materials to explore shapes, patterns, counting, balance, and simple engineering concepts. Students will be encouraged to plan their structures, test their ideas, make changes, and work collaboratively. These hands-on experiences are helping my students develop problem-solving, fine-motor, communication, and teamwork skills while having fun!","fullyFundedDate":1774963752325,"projectUrl":"project/one-block-at-a-time/9962132/","projectTitle":"One Block at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Roldan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6392288_orig.jpg?crop=673,673,x151,y144&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714677387264","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6392288"},{"teacherId":6392288,"projectId":10020887,"letterContent":"Our classic fairy tales have brought so much excitement and imagination into our pre-K classroom! We received the Fairy Tales Take Along Storyteller: Interactive Electronic Music Player/Reader with 11 follow-along books, which gives our students the opportunity to listen to classic stories while following along with the books. The small, easy-to-use storyteller makes reading accessible and engaging, whether students are listening independently, with a partner, or during small-group activities.\r\n\r\nThrough these new texts, students are learning important early literacy skills such as listening comprehension, vocabulary, sequencing, identifying characters and settings, predicting what might happen next, and retelling familiar stories in their own words. The fairy tales also encourage imagination, creativity, and conversations about kindness, problem-solving, and making good choices.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive and joyful. We read together as a class, listen to stories with the Fairy Tales Take Along Storyteller, look closely at the illustrations, discuss what we hear, and act out favorite parts of the stories. Some students especially enjoy listening to the same stories repeatedly and then retelling them to their friends or creating their own versions. It has been wonderful to see our young learners become excited about books and develop a love of stories and reading!","fullyFundedDate":1773878828195,"projectUrl":"project/once-upon-a-time-classic-fairy-tales-for/10020887/","projectTitle":"Once Upon a Time Classic Fairy Tales for PK Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Roldan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6392288_orig.jpg?crop=673,673,x151,y144&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714677387264","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6392288"},{"teacherId":6392288,"projectId":10019138,"letterContent":"Our new light-up table has already become a favorite resource in our pre-K classroom! My students use it during hands-on activities to explore colors, shapes, letters, numbers, and sensory materials. They were excited to see the colors glow and loved experimenting with how the colors changed when they overlapped.\r\n\r\nWhen the light-up table first arrived, my students were amazed and eager to touch and explore it. Their curiosity immediately turned into learning as they began asking questions, making observations, and sharing ideas with their classmates.\r\n\r\nWe will continue using the light-up table during our lessons on shapes, colors, and early literacy and math skills.
