Upon receiving the backpacks, I already had a list of students who were needing the required clear/mesh bags to begin the school year. Being a district social worker, I work with many of our low-income campuses and let me tell you my school counselors were thrilled to hear that I had free backpacks to give to our students. As a Title I district we pride ourselves on collaboration with community partners to help provide the much needed resources to our students and families but sometimes, we can't get everything we need. Receiving this donation definitely helped fill the gap on providing a very much needed and required item for our students.\r\nThe impact that this has had on our students is immense. Students no longer have to worry about not fitting in, receiving disciplinary consequences for not having a backpack, or wonder how their going to carry their belongings day to day. If a student's backpack breaks, they can feel relief knowing that they can come see me and get a new one. Our goal here at South San ISD is to remove barriers to learning and instruction. Having these backpacks is just another way we can make sure our students' main focus is on bettering themselves academically.","fullyFundedDate":1746783017247,"projectUrl":"project/backpacks-a-home-for-hopes-and-dreams/9134416/","projectTitle":"Backpacks: A Home for Hopes and Dreams","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Paulina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9932709_orig.jpg?crop=512,512,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740672382601","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9932709"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_24779","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":437,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":95,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.9,"schoolId":24779,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Zamora Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Zamora Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/south-san-antonio-independent-school-district/zamora-middle-school/24779"}
