Before receiving the fans, high temperatures often made it difficult for students with sensory sensitivities to regulate, focus, and feel comfortable in the space. At times, the sensory room could not be used as intended due to the heat.\r\n\r\nSince adding the Honeywell QuietSet Oscillating Tower Fans, the room stays cooler and better ventilated. The quiet operation prevents overstimulation while providing noticeable comfort. Students are now able to use the sensory room more consistently to calm their bodies, practice self-regulation, and return to class ready to learn.\r\n\r\nBy addressing a basic need—temperature comfort—this project removed a barrier to learning and helped create a more supportive, inclusive environment for our students. Thank you for making this positive impact possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755883398860,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-keep-our-sensory-room-cool-and-c/9523622/","projectTitle":"Help Us Keep Our Sensory Room Cool and Comfortable!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Zavala","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/priscilla-zavala"},{"teacherId":9346773,"projectId":9473471,"letterContent":"My students are learning to build on writing skills. With your contribution, we were able to provide essential resources that helped meet the unique needs of our students. One of the greatest needs was a variety of books at different reading levels, and thanks to your support, we were able to add high-interest books to our classroom library.\r\n\r\nThese exciting, silly, and relatable books have made a tremendous difference in our students' engagement with reading. Many of our students found reading challenging, but the addition of these fun and captivating books helped capture their attention and made reading more enjoyable. As a result, they were motivated to practice more, which significantly improved their reading skills.\r\n\r\nYour donation has helped create a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel excited and confident in their reading abilities. The addition of a cozy area rug, a comfortable beanbag chair, a projector, a sensory lap blanket, and a calming table lamp has created an inviting and soothing environment that promotes relaxation and focus. These items provide students with a safe space to calm their minds, reducing distractions and helping them better manage their emotions. The students' excitement to engage with these new resources is evident, as they now have a designated space where they can feel at ease and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThese thoughtful additions are not only enhancing emotional well-being but also promoting a more supportive, focused learning atmosphere. The items are helping to create an environment where students can feel safe and comfortable, while also learning valuable coping strategies to deal with their emotions.\r\n\r\nUltimately, this project has not only provided immediate relief for students struggling with mental health challenges, but it is also setting them up with lifelong skills for emotional resilience. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to provide this support and look forward to the continued growth and success of this initiative.","fullyFundedDate":1723480512177,"projectUrl":"project/say-yes-to-good-mental-health/8585225/","projectTitle":"Say Yes to Good Mental Health!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Nava","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9634752"},{"teacherId":9346773,"projectId":8984582,"letterContent":"Allowing my students to reset during the day is important for their wellbeing and their learning experience. It is a safer way for both staff and students to calm down without leaving my classroom and it is a safe place where they can take the time to sit in the new cushioned seats and grab a book from our collection that is slowing growing with the contributions we receive.
