It is where we begin our day together, read stories, sing songs, practice early literacy and math skills, have conversations, and celebrate our classroom community. We gather here many times throughout the day, so having a welcoming and functional space is incredibly important.\r\n\r\nThe individual spaces on our new carpet have been especially helpful for my young learners. They provide a visual reminder of personal space and help students know exactly where to sit without needing constant adult direction. This has made our transitions smoother and allows us to spend more time learning together.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, our new carpet gives my students a special place where they know they belong. In Pre-K, we work hard to create a classroom that feels safe, welcoming, and joyful.
