One of my favorite recent moments was during our \"Small Group Explorations,\" where students used connecting materials and links to build towers and chains. It was wonderful to see them naturally begin to sort by color and count aloud with such focus. When the materials first arrived, the kids were absolutely thrilled; their eyes lit up, and there was a chorus of \"Oohs\" and \"Aahs\" as they eagerly reached out to touch the new shapes and bright colors. This hands-on experience has already made abstract concepts like \"more\" and \"less\" much more concrete and accessible for them. Looking ahead, our next steps include using these tools for guided discovery—challenging the students to create their own patterns and solve simple \"story problems\" by moving the objects around to show what's happening.","fullyFundedDate":1764602627709,"projectUrl":"project/where-hands-on-meets-minds-on/9798414/","projectTitle":"Where Hands-On Meets Minds-On","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9932442_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751763072978","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9932442"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18163","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":171,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":98,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - Pre-K","studentTeacherRatio":"5.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":46.2,"schoolId":18163,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lorenzo G Loya Primary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lorenzo G Loya Primary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/san-elizario-independent-school-district/lorenzo-g-loya-primary-school/18163"}
