Thanks to the books received, my reading center has become the most popular. Students can't wait for their turn to go there and enjoy the new books. The Elephant and Piggie (Elefante y Cerdita)books in Spanish have been great. On their own, my students have the amazing idea of getting the same book in English and Spanish and read them with a partner. One student reads in English and the other reads in Spanish. They have very interesting conversations and they are learning about vocabulary because they are figuring out what the words mean in the other language. It is has been magical to see them do this and to see them grow as readers. All the other books have also been received with so much enthusiasm from my students and a lot of them are spending their 10 minutes of free time on Fridays reading books. Last Friday, they had a blast with Chancho de pug and Fly Guy. We will start reading the book El Cucuy and other Spooky legends next week, when we start our unit about legends, folktales and fables. It is also perfect for October time!!!!","fullyFundedDate":1746782996683,"projectUrl":"project/great-books-on-the-shelves-will-keep-us/9248372/","projectTitle":"Great Books on the Shelves Will Keep Us Reading Everyday","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. De Dominicis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3538144"},{"teacherId":9407987,"projectId":9109775,"letterContent":"The students this year are able have the tools and supplies they need to be successful in their general and art studies. They are using the alternative seating options to stay focused with motivated at their seats. They are using the math manipulative aids to better understand angles and how they make up geometric shapes. We are using the writing journals and our stock of pencils to write personal stories and build or skills as authors. The chairs have been a game changer for students as they wobble with focus. I am bit envious that they get to move while they learn while I stand and walk around the room.\r\nI am proud of my students that are so humble and kind when they found out the project was funded and we were going to have the supplies and furniture in our classroom after the summer was over. I switched from 4th grade to K-5 Arts so the chairs and supplies are shared by all my students in all the grades. This project has had more reach and impact then when I planned it to start with.","fullyFundedDate":1746783020222,"projectUrl":"project/finish-the-year-strong-in-ms-solis-cla/9109775/","projectTitle":"Finish the Year Strong in Ms. Solis' Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Solis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9407987_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1702268889248","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9407987"},{"teacherId":10010569,"projectId":9305438,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your support as I transition into my first year teaching Math. Your contribution has made a world of difference in the lives of our students, and I want to take a moment to let you know how deeply we appreciate your belief in the power of education.\r\n\r\nWith your help, we have been able to provide students with the opportunity to engage with a beautiful literary classic, The Little Prince. Through this book, our readers have not only explored themes of friendship, love, and responsibility, but also have developed critical thinking and language skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. It has sparked meaningful discussions, fostered creativity, and created a space where students can express themselves with confidence.\r\n\r\nThe books and resources you funded have already made a lasting impact on the students. Seeing them engage with the story and relate its themes to their own lives has been incredibly rewarding. These materials have greatly benefited my students. The document camera allows my students to clearly see the books and passages we read. It also gives my students the opportunity to share their work with everyone else, and feel pride in their work. \r\nThe clipboards allow my students to take their learning outside the classroom. We are now able to go out into the vegetable garden and the field to work in the sun, and appreciate the nature around us. \r\nThe English Language Learner games are a favorite in my classroom. The students love when it is their turn for that station, and can't wait to have fun learning English. It makes small groups more exciting, and gets my students pumped to practice their English skills. My students now have the tools to better engage in English language practice. \r\nThe headphones with microphones have been a life saver as TELPAS approaches. Students are able to practice their oral speaking skills, and evaluate their volume and pronunciation. They can practice recording in a realistic way that prepares them fro the exam, and gives them an opportunity to listen to their recording privately without fear that someone will overhear and judge their skills. This has boosted my students' confidence and is making them well prepared to show off their oral language skills.\r\nYour donation has made teaching and learning more fun and engaging.","fullyFundedDate":1727891746913,"projectUrl":"project/small-groups-big-learning-gains/8805686/","projectTitle":"Small Groups, Big (Learning) Gains","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Francese","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5939242_orig.jpg?crop=728,728,x69,y110&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1663617121299","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5939242"},{"teacherId":9407987,"projectId":8811254,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the classroom technology supplies. This enhances our classroom interactions. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!\r\n\r\nDuring group discussions the microphone and speaker facilitate group discussions for our projects. Students can present their findings on their subject, and everyone can hear each other clearly. This encourages participation and collaboration, as students can ask questions and share ideas more effectively.\r\n\r\nDuring our math lessons students can watch step-by-step problem-solving on the document camera.
