My students had been asking about SHARK WEEK immediately after state testing. When I presented them with all the amazing shark-themed resources, they were absolutely thrilled to begin their SHARK WEEK lessons. \r\n Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has been buzzing with excitement and curiosity as students dove into reading, researching, writing, and conducting STEM activities all about the Great White Shark. My students have enjoyed exploring the fossil shark teeth, wearing their shark wristbands, and listening to the read-aloud of the book Mother of Sharks. \r\n One highlight of our SHARK WEEK lessons has been the STEM activity of creating shark cages for the Great White Shark figurines. After researching how shark cages are used to observe sharks safely, students collaborated in teams to design their own cages that could withstand a \"shark ambush.\" They then tested how much weight their structures could hold before collapsing. It was incredible to hear the room filled with excitement, problem-solving, and laughter!\r\n Your donation has not only made this unit highly engaging but has also helped my students develop a deeper appreciation for sharks. They are learning to challenge common misconceptions and understand the importance of ocean conservation—all while strengthening their academic skills. \r\n Shark Week will now be a wonderful yearly event, incorporating the book Mother of Sharks, fossil shark teeth, and Great White Shark figurines.
