I am hoping that with having class sets of books we could focus on Literature circles to increase our critical thinking skills. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading. Literature circles will give the students the opportunity to talk about books with their peers. Through these conversations they will build community, learn critical speaking and listening behaviors, deepen their understanding of books and most important recognize that reading is fun.

About my class
