Instituting a positive rewards program for our Math students has been very beneficial for both teacher and student morale. We created individual cards for each student. Anytime they do something Math-related outside of class, they are able to earn stickers towards rewards. We have students making Math videos, working in Math programs outside of class, coming to after school tutoring, and all kinds of activities designed to promote a Math mindset.\r\n\r\nWe set up a movable Math store with the cart you helped fund and it travels from classroom to classroom. Although it may seem like highschoolers would not be interested in stickers and prizes, they absolutely are and have been very positively competitive about it. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your support of our students; it makes such a huge difference to educators to know that there are people cheering us on even outside the walls of our school building. It's a beautiful day here in central Texas, and as it's mid-October, volleyball, cross country, and football seasons are drawing to a close. All of our teams have particularly benefited from your generous donations.\r\n\r\nThe Texas heat is always a concern for my students, and keeping them safe from heat illness is our top priority. Thanks to your donations, we're now able to utilize our space more safely, and we are always prepared for an emergency. The ice cold water sponges are an easy hygienic way to cool and refresh in the heat. It's a win-win when we can keep students safe and in the classroom!\r\n\r\nEach week, we use the chamois towels and squeegees near our whirlpools to quickly remove excess water, ensuring no one slips and falls. The squeegees have also been incredibly useful when coolers are spilled or the whirlpools overflow due to too many students trying to get in.\r\n\r\nFootball collisions can lead to blood, so having access to hydrogen peroxide has been incredibly helpful. It's the gold standard for removing blood from clothing, which keeps our players in the game and protects everyone else from bloodborne pathogen exposure.
