I knew there were generous people in the world but I honestly didn't think my project would get funded. When I informed my students about what I had signed up for they were in shock that we received these amazing items from people somewhere in the world. I had a student who was asking me daily to track when our recess equipment was going to be delivered because she had started playing basketball and she wanted to practice at school. When the items got delivered all the students were excited to have some recess equipment. When I showed the students all the items that I had ordered for them I told them that there are people in the world who do care about their education and want them to enjoy being at school. When you read the letters from the students you will see how appreciative they are for these items. I was reading through them and I was speechless on some of their thank you letters.\r\n\r\nThe day the boxes arrived, I made it a teachable moment. We had such a great discussion on how small acts of kindness will bring joy to the world. We talked about showing kindness at school and how we can be better citizens by doing nice things for others. Thank you again for everything you did for my third grade classroom. My students are extremely grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1765824386955,"projectUrl":"project/thriving-in-third/9712468/","projectTitle":"Thriving in Third","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hayes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10259850"},{"teacherId":9603963,"projectId":9486057,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for all the donations we received for our classroom. The students were so excited to see all the boxes coming to our classroom, and it felt like Christmas to them when we opened all the boxes. The smiles and excitement they had was priceless. \r\n\r\nWe use most of the materials daily. We write on the whiteboards everyday for our math class, and use the markers and towels for cleaning them. We used to use socks to clean our desks when we wrote on them. With 39 students, we go through materials fairly quickly and they don't have the funding to donate at the beginning of the year so we are very grateful for all the supplies we have received.\r\n\r\nSeveral of our students don't come to school with headphones and we use them daily in class to do our IXL to help us close the gaps to get them where they need. Many of my students were so overjoyed to be able to now have a new pair of headphones of their very own. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for donating to our classroom this year.","fullyFundedDate":1757004113027,"projectUrl":"project/having-necessary-supplies-helps-us-to-be/9486057/","projectTitle":"Having Necessary Supplies Helps Us to be Successful","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ramos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9603963"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17745","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":431,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":84.6,"schoolId":17745,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bradford Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bradford Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/san-angelo-independent-school-district/bradford-elementary-school/17745"}
