The new books have quickly become a favorite part of our day. Students rush to the shelves each morning to discover what they'll read next.\r\n\r\nI've seen a noticeable change in both confidence and excitement about reading. Students who were once hesitant to pick up a book are now proudly sharing their favorite stories with classmates. Our discussions are richer, our reading stamina has grown, and most importantly, students are more eager than ever to explore new ideas and perspectives through reading.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just put books on our shelves, it helped build a community of readers. You've sparked curiosity, empathy, and a love of learning that will continue to grow far beyond our classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping them discover the power and joy of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1746464283084,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-library-bloom/9259521/","projectTitle":"Help Our Library Bloom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Willingham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10001080"},{"teacherId":10001099,"projectId":9259547,"letterContent":"The impact of these fully funded books has been a total game-changer for my classroom. There is just something different about the energy in the room when students get to crack open a crisp, brand-new book that belongs to them for the year. It made them feel special and \"seen\" in a way that old, hand-me-down books just can't do. You could see the pride on their faces—it sent a clear message that their learning is worth the investment, and they've stepped up to meet that energy.\r\n\r\nThe best part has been watching them really dig into the characters. Since we got full series, they've been able to follow the same characters through different stories, which made tracking character traits so much more natural. It turned into a bit of a game for them; they started noticing tiny changes in how a character acted or felt from one book to the next. It's one thing to teach \"character development\" from a worksheet, but it's another thing entirely to see them get genuinely invested in a character's journey across a whole series.\r\n\r\nBut honestly, the biggest win for me is the shift in my \"non-readers.\" At the beginning of the year, I had a group of students who were pretty vocal about hating reading and writing. I challenged them right at the start, promising that by the end of the year, they'd at least like it—if not love it. Because of these books, that challenge is officially won. Those same kids who used to shut down are now telling me that reading is their favorite part of the day! Seeing that \"bad attitude\" flip into pure excitement has been the highlight of my year.","fullyFundedDate":1746464175779,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-minds-the-importance-o/9259547/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Minds: The Importance of Book Series","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nichols","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10001099"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12872","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":424,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":13,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":70,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"13.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":12872,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Nebbie Williams Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Nebbie Williams Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/rockwall-independent-school-district/nebbie-williams-elementary-school/12872"}
