This addition allows them to merge digital storytelling with physical design, enhancing both their literacy and technical skills simultaneously. Many students who are typically hesitant during transitions or group activities found comfort and focus at the sensory table, helping to ease their participation in classroom routines. Now, we're shifting into a summer-themed ocean unit, using sand, shells, and sea creature manipulatives in the tables. Students are digging for hidden objects, role-playing ocean animal adventures, and building their own stories around what they discover. The next steps in this project involve incorporating simple science investigations—like comparing textures or learning about ocean habitats—while continuing to support sensory development and cooperative play.
