They loved having the variety of reading from leveled readers with topics they find interesting. The books we received were chapter books, and, for some of my students, this was the first time they were able to successfully finish a chapter book. In addition to celebrating our new materials, we used the opportunity to review the importance of taking care of classroom supplies.\r\n\r\nI have been able to incorporate the sentence building dominoes and parts of speech dice into small-group learning. Working in a small group with the new materials has allowed me to better understand where students are struggling while allowing me to customize individual learning. \r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts of introducing the books to students was having students tell me they could not read the book because it was too difficult. Over time, students were able to read, not just one chapter book, but several. Having donors like you has allowed me to customize my teaching and student learning in my classroom. Thank you for your continued support in educating students in an ever-changing school system.","fullyFundedDate":1768526803954,"projectUrl":"project/reading-to-learn/10016369/","projectTitle":"Reading to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Knapp","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9814537_orig.jpg?crop=215,215,x0,y69&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730904386211","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9814537"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_133578","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":401,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":133578,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about James Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"James Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/princeton-independent-school-district/james-elementary-school/133578"}
