The circle rug has become the heart of our class — it's where we gather each morning to share, learn, and build community. Students love using the mirror for self-reflection activities that promote confidence and self-awareness. The moving sand art picture has been a favorite during sensory breaks, helping students calm down and refocus. We've also used the classroom rewards like M&M's and Skittles to celebrate small victories and positive behavior, which has made our learning environment even more encouraging and joyful.\r\n\r\nTheir excitement was priceless! The moment they walked in and saw the new supplies, their faces lit up. They were especially drawn to the circle rug, which instantly brought smiles and laughter. Many students commented on how \"fancy\" the classroom felt with the new lighting, organization tools, and sensory items. It truly made them feel cared for and proud of their learning space.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are focused on using these resources to enhance collaboration and creativity. Students are working on group projects that involve sharing ideas on the rug, using the daily schedule chart to build independence, and integrating reflection time using the mirror. The calm, organized environment — supported by tools like the shredder, charging station, and sensory items — helps them stay focused and confident. With these materials, we're continuing to grow not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well.","fullyFundedDate":1753101013154,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-learning-confidence-and-grow/9455567/","projectTitle":"Tools for Learning, Confidence, and Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jackson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6774570_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y185&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628309447085","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsalisonjackson"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10629","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":542,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":40,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"15.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":10629,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pottsboro Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pottsboro Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/pottsboro-independent-school-district/pottsboro-elementary-school/10629"}
