In our self-contained setting, we spend each day building strong relationships and learning about each student's unique strengths, interests, and personalities. One of the most meaningful ways we see those strengths grow and shine is through reading.\r\n\r\nMy students have enthusiastically worked through many of the chapter books currently in our library, including favorites like \"Goosebumps\", \"Captain Underpants\", and \"Junie B. Jones\". Their excitement for reading has grown tremendously, and they are eager for new stories that match their interests and keep them engaged. As their love for reading continues to develop, it is important that our classroom library grows with them.\r\n\r\nAccess to a diverse and engaging selection of books helps make reading feel approachable and enjoyable, especially for students who may find longer texts challenging. When books are funny, mysterious, adventurous, or closely connected to their interests, students are more willing to take risks as readers and develop confidence in their abilities. This support allows reading to become less of a task and more of an opportunity for imagination, growth, and independence.\r\n\r\nYour generosity helps ensure that every student has access to books that meet them where they are and encourage them to keep exploring new ideas, building comprehension skills, and discovering a lifelong love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1746785966525,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-library-20/9240258/","projectTitle":"Classroom Library 2.0","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pace","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8510794_orig.png?crop=324,324,x0,y17&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1779287952520","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8510794"},{"teacherId":8510794,"projectId":9243398,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Elevate Field Day snack project. This event brings together students from multiple feeder schools, creating a fun, welcoming, and high-energy experience designed to help our special education students build connections and feel excited about their transition into high school. Having access to safe, familiar, and inclusive snack options ensures that all students can fully participate in the day without worry about food availability, preferences, or sensitivities- for both students, and their families. \r\n\r\nMany of our students have specific dietary needs or selective food preferences, and providing a variety of appropriate snack options helps us make sure every student feels included, supported, and cared for. With this support, students are able to stay energized, regulate throughout a busy and stimulating day, and engage more fully in activities, games, and peer interactions. Most importantly, it helps create a positive and memorable experience where students feel a sense of belonging, celebration, and excitement about their future in high school.","fullyFundedDate":1746785552106,"projectUrl":"project/special-education-feeder-field-day/9243398/","projectTitle":"Special Education Feeder Field Day!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pace","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8510794_orig.png?crop=324,324,x0,y17&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1779287952520","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8510794"},{"teacherId":8510794,"projectId":9389963,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom incentive store and helping make positive behavior, hard work, and academic success something students can see, practice, and celebrate each day. This project directly impacted my special education self-contained classroom by allowing students to earn tokens throughout the school day and exchange them in a meaningful, motivating way. The incentive store helped reinforce responsibility, respect, and achievement while also supporting important life skills such as decision-making, delayed gratification, and early financial literacy as students learn to \"spend\" their earned tokens or even \"save\" for something bigger and better!\r\n\r\nBecause every student has unique interests and preferences, having a variety of engaging, high-interest items in our store makes the system even more powerful and inclusive. It gave my students real motivation to stay engaged, complete tasks, and take pride in their progress.
