Instead of only reading about how plants grow, students are now able to observe it daily. This experience has deepened their understanding of life cycles, responsibility, and the environment. \r\nThe first day I opened the hydroponics box, my students were full of curiosity. They had never seen one before and wanted to learn more. They were amazed at the novelty of being able to grow plants in water! They couldn't believe what they were hearing! It has been such an adventure for them to be able to have these hydroponics tools in our classroom. After we set it up, they were ecstatic to put seeds in and wait for the plants to grow. Some of my students had never seen the seed each fruit or flower came from. After sowing the seeds, they were amazed to watch the seedlings come up. Their excitement was overflowing when they saw their first cucumber develop on one of the plants! Their morning routine has also began to look different. Every day, the first thing they do is check the plants. They take pride in their plants!\r\nAs a teacher, I am so happy and thankful to be able to watch them learn about life cycles and plants first hand. Throughout these past weeks/months, we have read books that talked about life cycles and plants. They have been able to make connections to the plants they have in the classroom. Things make so much sense to them because of this opportunity. They care about the environment and learning how to grow their own food! Right now we have moved some plants outside and are starting plants for them to take home at the end of the year. They are so excited to be able to take something home to share with their family. \r\n\r\nI will continue to use the hydroponics in future years thanks to your generosity. Your support means the world to us and has made this learning experience possible. We cannot thank you enough.","fullyFundedDate":1767223406644,"projectUrl":"project/growing-minds-through-hydroponics/9573259/","projectTitle":"Growing Minds Through Hydroponics","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Castillo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9568931_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y304&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1719326222666","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9568931"},{"teacherId":9568931,"projectId":9518614,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding my project. Your support helps me create a classroom where students are eager to participate and collaborate with each other. I love watching my students excel in their academics using activities from TPT.
