Group members are able to shift positions, form small discussion circles, or gather more closely when needed, which has made communication feel more open and informal. At the same time, the lack of traditional seating has required us to be more mindful of comfort and focus, pushing the group to adapt and support one another. The new resources have supported not only literacy development, but also student confidence, independence, and a true love for books.\r\n\r\nThe boho round floor seat cushions have become a favorite spot for students who need a quiet corner to dive into their independent reading. These soft, colorful pillows help create cozy reading nooks where students settle in with a book and truly lose themselves in the story. Our newcomers especially enjoy choosing a pillow, grabbing their reading log, and practicing their English or Spanish vocabulary at their own pace.\r\n\r\nThe lightweight desk chairs have made small-group reading instruction smoother and more flexible. Students can easily move their chair to join guided-reading groups, strategy lessons, or peer conferences. In these small groups, we practice skills such as identifying text structure, analyzing characters, citing evidence, and summarizing key ideas. Because the chairs are stackable and easy to lift, students take pride in setting up our reading stations on their own.\r\n\r\nWith the Reading Log Journals, students now track their reading in a meaningful way. They write reflections, rate their books, record favorite quotes, and jot down new vocabulary. This has strengthened their metacognition—helping them think about their thinking as readers—and has also helped me monitor their progress as they grow in fluency and comprehension. One student even shared that she loves writing her book reviews because \"it makes me feel like a real writer.\"\r\n\r\nThe big dry-erase magnetic labels have helped keep our classroom library and reading materials organized and accessible. Every book bin, reading strategy chart, and group-materials tub is clearly labeled. Students can easily find what they need and return items independently, which keeps our literacy block running smoothly and teaches them responsibility.\r\n\r\nFinally, the plastic expanding file folders have been a lifesaver for storing student work, anchor charts, reading response sheets, small-group lessons, and leveled-text packets. Students love using them to keep their reading notes and vocabulary lists neat and protected, and they enjoy choosing from the bright, colorful designs.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, reading in our classroom now looks like collaboration, exploration, and joyful learning. Students spread out on floor pillows with their books open, meet in small flexible groups to tackle new skills, and take ownership of their learning through organized materials and thoughtful reading logs. Several students—especially those who are new to the country—have shown tremendous enthusiasm for the new books and reading routines. They feel safe, comfortable, and motivated, which makes all the difference.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create a space where every child can grow as a reader. Your donation has truly impacted our classroom in meaningful and lasting ways.","fullyFundedDate":1755715200154,"projectUrl":"project/magnetic-minds-flexible-seating-liter/9527248/","projectTitle":"Magnetic Minds: Flexible Seating & Literacy Centers That Stick","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Del Bosque","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1873727_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1653760471529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrdelbosque"},{"teacherId":1873727,"projectId":9439667,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students are learning with resources that make a real impact every single day. The Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) organizational tools have helped them keep their journals and binders structured, which makes it easier for them to track progress and take pride in their work. Along with that, the high-quality reading passages we now use for morning warm-ups have become a class favorite—students walk in each morning eager to dive into the day's text, practicing annotation, comprehension, and discussion skills right from the start.\r\n\r\nWhat excites me most is how these resources are building confidence. Students who were once reluctant to participate are now raising their hands to share their thinking, and others who struggled with organization are keeping their binders neat and ready to show off. The combination of engaging reading materials and clear systems for learning has sparked motivation and ownership in ways I hadn't seen before.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools they need to stay organized, grow as readers, and believe in themselves.
