One of the things I love most about my students is that they come to my classroom with different backgrounds, different strengths, and different levels of confidence in science. When they are given the opportunity to actually do science, however, they often surprise themselves. Students who may not initially see Biology as their favorite subject can become completely engaged when they are observing, asking questions, and figuring things out for themselves.\r\n\r\nThese resources will help make Biology more real and meaningful for my students by turning concepts from the textbook into things they can actually see, touch, and investigate. The live aquatic plants will give students the opportunity to observe processes such as photosynthesis and gas exchange in a way that is much more meaningful than simply reading a definition. Glue sticks and laminating sheets will help us create interactive notebooks and durable learning tools that students can use throughout the year. The TPT resources will provide additional practice and review that supports STAAR preparation while being more engaging and accessible than traditional worksheets.\r\n\r\nMy goal is simple: I want my students to feel more confident in Biology and more prepared for the STAAR exam, while also developing a genuine understanding of how living systems work.
