The individual whiteboards with colored markers and erasers are used often, providing a low-stakes, flexible space for student responses. Students frequently use them to answer questions, quickly jot down ideas during brainstorming sessions, and express their thoughts or feelings privately before sharing . This level of autonomy and immediate feedback encourages every student to participate actively. Furthermore, the whiteboards serve as personalized organizational tools, helping students maintain focus by tracking their daily to-do lists or recording important reminders.\r\n\r\nThe other resources focus specifically on promoting social-emotional learning (SEL) and cognitive skill development. The Social-Emotional Textile Marble Mazes have proven incredibly effective for students needing a quiet, tactile \"brain break.\" When a student feels overwhelmed, anxious, or simply needs to refocus, the calming, repetitive motion of guiding the marble through the woven fabric provides a discrete and sensory-friendly way to self-regulate and return to the learning task refreshed. Finally, the Tottering Tower Game offers a fun, collaborative activity that sharpens spatial awareness and balancing skills. This game not only engages their brains but also encourages teamwork, strategic thinking, and patience, serving as an excellent tool for quick breaks or as a reward activity that simultaneously develops critical physical and mental coordination.","fullyFundedDate":1754938254616,"projectUrl":"project/igniting-potential-in-every-student/9498221/","projectTitle":"Igniting Potential in Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dennis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp540723_orig.png?crop=528,528,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753399040669","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/540723"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_106209","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1415,"numTeachers":68,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":23,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":60,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.8,"schoolId":106209,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Folks Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Folks Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/northside-independent-school-district/folks-middle-school/106209"}
