It's amazing to see even the most reluctant student trying to balance...the wonder on their faces is incredible to see! This week we have been talking about body parts and students were able to hold a discussion on how they used different body parts to balance. The balance stepping stones were a big hit. Students took off their footwear and balanced themselves on the stones. They were able to describe the feeling that the stones produced when their feet touched the stone (sense of touch). I have a few very active students that enjoy the balance beam...it calms them. The quiet/calming giant building blocks are also awesome for that (wish I had moreš). I'm looking forward to next weeks unit on senses when we can use ALL materials that we received due to your generosity...oh the discussion we will hold","fullyFundedDate":1782748855842,"projectUrl":"project/healthy-bodies-healthy-mindsready-to-l/10193075/","projectTitle":"Healthy Bodies, Healthy Mindsā¦Ready to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. de la Garza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9523801"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_8245","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":396,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":95,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":8245,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Salinas Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Salinas Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/mission-consolidated-independent-school-district/salinas-elementary-school/8245"}
