When my students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They could not wait to start building, exploring, and creating. As soon as the Magna-Tiles and LEGO sets came out, students began designing cities, testing structures, and working together to solve problems. With the KEVA Brain Builders and logic games, they are learning to think critically, try new strategies, and persist when something feels challenging.\r\n\r\nWe have already started using these resources during our GT small groups and enrichment time. One of our favorite moments was watching students design their own \"city centers,\" explaining why their buildings were strong, how they solved design problems, and what they would improve next time. The storytelling cubes and books have also sparked creative thinking, with students building stories and making deeper connections in their reading.\r\n\r\nThese materials are helping my students grow not only academically, but also in confidence and collaboration. Next, we will be using these tools for more structured design challenges, research projects, and problem-solving tasks where students plan, build, test, and reflect on their work. Because of your generosity, my students are experiencing learning in a hands-on, meaningful way that truly meets their needs as gifted learners.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible and for investing in my students' futures.","fullyFundedDate":1769177281566,"projectUrl":"project/big-thinking-for-little-learners-at-our/9898362/","projectTitle":"Big Thinking for Little Learners at Our Title I School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mayme-baker"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_14966","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":707,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 1","studentTeacherRatio":"16.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":65.0,"schoolId":14966,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lamar Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lamar Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/mineral-wells-independent-school-district/lamar-elementary-school/14966"}
