It was such a wonderful reminder that something as simple as a sensory tool can mean so much to a child who needs a little extra support throughout the day.\r\n\r\nWe are now incorporating these resources into our daily classroom routines. When a student becomes overwhelmed, anxious, or has difficulty focusing, we can offer a sensory tool to help them regulate and get back to a place where they feel ready to participate. I have already seen moments when a student who was struggling was able to calm their body, regain focus, and rejoin the lesson. Those moments may seem small, but in our classroom, they are HUGE victories.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful parts of teaching students with special needs is watching them discover that they have ways to communicate their needs and strategies that can help them be successful. Your donation is helping us create those opportunities every single day.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue teaching students how to recognize when they need sensory support, choose an appropriate tool, and use it as independently as possible before returning to their learning.
