Your support has breathed new life into our math classroom, and the impact of the markers and erasers you provided was felt the moment they hit the whiteboards.\r\n\r\nBy providing these supplies, you've helped move us away from a traditional, lecture-heavy environment toward a space centered on collaboration and discovery. My students are now using the whiteboards to explore concepts prior to direct instruction, support their thinking, and collaborate freely. As a math teacher, it is a joy to see students dive into problem-solving and discover mathematical patterns on their own before I ever begin a formal lesson. These supplies have allowed students to draw, write, and visually map out their logic in real-time. It has empowered them to take risks and work together without the fear of making a permanent mistake on paper.\r\n\r\nAs we move into our final units of Algebra 1, I am particularly excited to break out the magnetic algebra tiles. We will be using these to tackle solving quadratics, using the tiles to reinforce group work and provide a concrete scaffold for their thinking. I truly cannot wait to see the \"aha!\" moments happen as they use these materials to make sense of complex equations.\r\n\r\nBeyond the academic tools, the games like Sequence and Uno were a massive hit! High school students face a lot of pressure, especially during finals week. Having these games allowed us to enjoy those final days before winter break in a way that felt human and restorative. Even when they are required to be in the building after testing is over, these resources gave them a well-deserved opportunity to relax, bond, and just be kids for a moment.\r\n\r\nThank you for recognizing that high schoolers deserve both high-quality learning tools and the occasional \"brain break.\" Your kindness has made our classroom a more vibrant and joyful place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1760045410326,"projectUrl":"project/teaching-is-what-i-have-been-called-to-d/9607916/","projectTitle":"Teaching is what I have been called to do","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Garcia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10113213_orig.jpg?crop=3135,3135,x0,y146&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755308881970","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10113213"},{"teacherId":10159151,"projectId":9592915,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the supplies provided to my classroom. The addition of mini whiteboards, dry-erase markers, and erasers has shifted the energy in our learning environment. My students were so incredibly excited when the materials arrived. There was a literal buzz in the room as we unpacked everything, and they were especially thrilled about the snacks you included! The mini whiteboards have increased participation, and I've noticed a major boost in confidence among my students. Because mistakes are so easy to erase, they feel far more willing to take risks and frequently ask to work on their boards rather than on paper.\r\nFurthermore, the laminating machine has been a total game-changer for our daily resources. By laminating our resources and students can write directly on the resources to answer questions and then wipe them clean for the next activity. This has saved a significant amount of paper. Thank you again for investing in these tools and for the thoughtful treats. They have truly made a daily difference in my students enthusiasm for learning and their willingness to tackle challenging material.","fullyFundedDate":1759404438726,"projectUrl":"project/board-to-greatness-collaboration-in-act/9592915/","projectTitle":"Board to Greatness: Collaboration in Action","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKellar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10159151"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_94288","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2539,"numTeachers":122,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":21,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":94288,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Legacy High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Legacy High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/mansfield-independent-school-district/mansfield-legacy-high-school/94288"}
