With you help, we were able to purchase a Black GoPro 13 and accessories. This played a huge role in our success this football season. This had a direct impact on how we filmed practice, reviewed film, and prepared for our opponents each week. The angles at which we were able to film using the 10 foot pole was amazing. The film captured from behind our offense using the wide angle attachment helped improve our teams conceptual understanding of spacing and route running. \r\n\r\nWhat was most exciting for our students was the fact that they got to see their mistakes in real time with the help of Hudl. Uploading, sharing, and reviewing film was seamless with this new equipment. Our student athletes also loved the simplicity of filming their practices and often volunteered to take turns filming when not getting reps. \r\n\r\nOne of our boys who doesn't get to play as much due to injuries, has adapted to becoming our main film guy. He's mentioned pursuing the possibility of continuing to do this in the future. He wants to film NFL games on TV. This was super exciting to hear. \r\n\r\nOnce again, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a game changer and we appreciate your help. Many of them immediately began testing out the colors and writing their names, while others eagerly asked if they could start on their projects right away. For our class, something as simple as having fresh, colorful writing tools made a huge difference in how motivated and engaged the students felt.\r\n\r\nOne of our first projects with the new supplies was creating posters and cards to display in our classroom and around the school. The students took great pride in choosing colors, designing their layouts, and sharing their finished work with teachers and peers. It wasn't just about art — it was about expressing themselves, building confidence, and practicing fine motor and writing skills in a fun way.\r\n\r\nOur next steps will be to use these pens and markers in upcoming assignments, including journaling, classroom presentations, and creative art projects. We are also planning to use them in our C.A.R.E. Academy retail store projects, where students will design handmade crafts and cards to share with staff and parents.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students such a simple yet powerful gift. The joy on their faces and the pride in their work is a direct result of your generosity, and we can't wait to keep creating with these wonderful resources!","fullyFundedDate":1750773733861,"projectUrl":"project/write-sketch-stick-tools-for-everyday/9303044/","projectTitle":"Write, Sketch, Stick: Tools for Everyday Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jesus Garza C.A.R.E.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2315194_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726077274739","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2315194"},{"teacherId":4063302,"projectId":9000561,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donations, our Coyote Construction shop class at La Joya High School is more equipped, efficient, and safer than ever!\r\n\r\nWith the addition of tools like the SKIL PWR CORE 20 Circular Saw Kit and its track guide, our students are now making cleaner, more accurate cuts, which directly improves the quality of their projects and builds real-world carpentry skills. The track clamps and tape measures are helping them practice precision and measurement—skills essential in both residential and commercial construction.\r\n\r\nWe've also placed a strong focus on shop safety. The BOW Products featherboards and push sticks are reducing kickback risk and improving material control on the table saw, while the replacement EVA tips extend the life of these safety tools. These upgrades allow students to work more confidently and responsibly in a hands-on environment.\r\n\r\nTo keep our workspace clean and healthy, we installed automatic vacuum switches, which reduce dust buildup by syncing our power tools with vacuums—protecting our students' lungs and keeping our shop neat and organized.\r\n\r\nEven the small additions, like carpenter pencils and sharpeners, play a big role in everyday work—making project layout and planning smoother and more efficient for every student.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our classroom feels more like a professional job site, and our students are learning with real tools, in real-world conditions, and with a high standard of safety and care.\r\n\r\nWe can't thank you enough for investing in our future builders. The new items—wireless keyboard, iPad case, Stylus Pencil, and Triangular Mechanical Pencil Set—have already begun making a significant impact on the students' learning experiences, and I'm thrilled to share with you the positive changes happening in our classroom.\r\nThe most exciting aspect for my students has been the freedom and enhanced functionality provided by the wireless keyboard and stylus. The wireless keyboard allows them to type more quickly and efficiently on the iPads, which helps when we are writing essays, conducting research, or engaging in collaborative work. The Stylus Pencil has opened up new possibilities for digital artwork and precise note-taking, both of which have sparked creativity and increased engagement. Many of my students have expressed how much easier it is to work on assignments when they can write or draw directly on the iPad screen, making tasks feel less like a chore and more interactive.\r\nA few students have particularly embraced this new technology. One student, in particular, who has struggled with fine motor skills, has shown immense improvement in handwriting and drawing thanks to the precision the Stylus Pencil provides. Another student with a strong interest in graphic design has been using the iPad and stylus to create digital art, which has deepened their enthusiasm for learning. The wireless keyboard has especially been beneficial for students who often have difficulty typing on a traditional screen keyboard—these students now feel more confident and capable when composing written work.\r\nThe technology is fostering more independent learning and encouraging students to explore a variety of educational tools. The wireless keyboard has made it easier for students to complete tasks faster, allowing more time for in-depth research, group projects, and interactive learning. The iPad and stylus have enabled students to experiment with digital tools that support creativity, visual learning, and hands-on exploration in ways that traditional materials simply cannot.\r\nAdditionally, the Triangular Mechanical Pencil Set has been a big hit with younger students, as the design promotes proper grip and prevents hand fatigue, making writing tasks more comfortable and enjoyable. This, in turn, helps students stay focused and productive for longer periods.\r\nIn conclusion, these donations are making a tangible difference in the daily lives of my students. The tools are not only enhancing their current learning experiences but also fostering skills that will serve them well in future endeavors. Thank you again for your incredible support in making this project a reality. Your contributions are truly helping to shape the way my students learn and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1727278387156,"projectUrl":"project/building-our-learning-space/8777465/","projectTitle":"Building Our Learning Space","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Salinas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7930660_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720176623912","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7930660"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16669","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2624,"numTeachers":188,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":99,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.1,"schoolId":16669,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about La Joya Senior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"La Joya Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/la-joya-independent-school-district/la-joya-senior-high-school/16669"}
