As a counselor, our students loved the weighted Henry the Huskies. These stuffed huskies served as an emotional support to decrease anxiety, anger, and impulsivity. I was conducting a guidance lesson in the classroom and we underwent a severe thunderstorm storm scaring students. This emotional support made a scared, crying student at ease. \r\n\r\n\"A Little Spot of Emotion\" also helped during my individual counseling student sessions to understand their emotions. I had one in particular enjoy it so much she wanted to keep all the included emotional plushies. This helped them identify their emotions and know it's ok to feel the way they feel.\r\n\r\nOne of the most practical items of this donations were the \"calming strips\". They came very handy because I would not be able to afford buying them for my students. They are so curious about why someone who doesn't know them would invest in their future. Students have been able to use it in a class designated station to help and support each other while I work with a larger group. Students have been able to display their work strategies and both teach and learn from their peers. \r\n\r\nThe students love that they can work collaboratively and use the tv to display their live work. Additionally, they can share their classroom projects for their classmates to critique and assist in revisions. Something else they have truly enjoyed is using apps on the TV to show videos and animations in their small group instruction. \r\n\r\nStudents who struggle with some content have enjoyed learning from their peers as they work in a smaller setting where this television is their primary tool.
