It has made such a positive impact in my classroom, particularly for my ESL students. We are using it for important vocabulary words, visuals to aid understanding and labeling to improve recognition around the classroom. \r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when they first got to use the Cricut. Our first project was to make a Thank You card for you!\r\n\r\nThe next step for the class is to make a science bulletin board using the Cricut on soil. We are excited to see how it turns out. The new read-aloud books and storybooks have helped introduce important early literacy skills such as vocabulary development, comprehension, print awareness, and oral language. During read-aloud time, students are actively listening, predicting, and responding to stories, while independent reading time is filled with excitement as children explore books that match their interests and abilities.\r\n\r\nHands-on math materials like building blocks, geoboards, and magnetic tiles have made abstract concepts concrete for our young learners. Students are strengthening number sense, spatial awareness, and problem-solving skills as they build, count, sort, and create. Math centers are now lively and collaborative, with students explaining their thinking, working together, and gaining confidence through exploration and play-based learning.\r\n\r\nThese materials have also had a powerful impact on students' social-emotional growth. Collaborative games encourage cooperation and communication, while sensory tools help students learn to self-regulate and stay engaged throughout the day. Pocket charts have improved classroom organization, making routines smoother and giving students a greater sense of independence and security. Your support has helped create a warm, structured environment where every child can grow academically, socially, and emotionally—and I am deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1754534398209,"projectUrl":"project/sel-math-literacy-tools/9527048/","projectTitle":"SEL, MATH, & Literacy Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Munro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9972581_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752336135487","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gracemunro"},{"teacherId":9972581,"projectId":9511162,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our Tonies listening center has become a favorite part of our kindergarten literacy block. Once a week, students rotate through this fun and engaging reading center where they listen to stories independently while following along with pictures and text. These listening experiences help build essential early literacy skills such as comprehension, vocabulary development, story sequencing, and listening stamina. Students are also learning how stories work like, identifying characters, settings, and key events. All while enjoying books in a joyful, low-pressure way.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading looks like curiosity, excitement, and growing confidence. While some students are just beginning to recognize letters and sounds, the listening center allows every child to access rich stories at their level. Students learn to sit, listen carefully, and stay engaged from beginning to end, which directly supports their growth as readers. Many students love retelling the stories afterward, acting them out, or making connections during class discussions.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who are still developing confidence with traditional reading especially shine during this center. The Tonies give them independence and a sense of success—they can manage the technology on their own and fully enjoy books without frustration. Watching their faces light up as they listen, laugh, and sing along has been incredibly rewarding. Your support has helped make reading feel fun, welcoming, and accessible for all of our young learners, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1753817337869,"projectUrl":"project/tonies-listening-center/9511162/","projectTitle":"Tonies Listening Center","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Munro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9972581_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752336135487","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gracemunro"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10241","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":809,"numTeachers":61,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":66,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.6,"schoolId":10241,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Polly Ann McRoberts Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Polly Ann McRoberts Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/katy-independent-school-district/polly-ann-mcroberts-elementary-school/10241"}
