Because of your generosity, my elementary students now have access to engaging therapy materials, organizational supplies, and books that help make learning both meaningful and fun.\r\n\r\nWe use these new resources during our speech therapy sessions. The therapy materials and books allow students to practice articulation, vocabulary, and language skills through hands-on activities and interactive reading. The organizational supplies have also made a big difference in helping keep our therapy space structured so students can quickly access the materials they need and stay focused on their goals.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were incredibly excited. They immediately wanted to explore the books and games and couldn't wait to start using them in our activities. Their enthusiasm made our therapy sessions feel even more special, and it reminded me how powerful engaging materials can be in helping students feel motivated to learn and communicate.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue using these resources to support our current lessons focused on improving articulation, expanding vocabulary, and strengthening expressive language skills. The books and therapy materials will help students practice retelling stories, describing pictures, and using complete sentences to express their ideas. These skills will help them become more confident communicators both in the classroom and with their peers. Your kindness and generosity are making a real difference for my students. Thank you for giving them tools that support their growth, confidence, and communication skills. We are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1770590906765,"projectUrl":"project/words-at-work-tools-for-powerful-commun/10087535/","projectTitle":"Words at Work: Tools for Powerful Communication Gains","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Harrison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10430266"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15898","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":604,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":26,"percentIndigenous":6,"percentLatinx":53,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.7,"schoolId":15898,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fred Douglass Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fred Douglass Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/jacksonville-independent-school-district/fred-douglass-elementary-school/15898"}
