My students and I were absolutely thrilled when we received your donation.\r\n\r\nWhen the kids first saw the materials, the room erupted in pure chaos, happy chaos, but still chaos. Imagine a Black Friday sale, but with smaller humans and way more squealing. They immediately jumped onto the new couch and into the games with so much enthusiasm that the couch didn't exactly survive. RIP to a very short-lived but very loved piece of furniture. 😂\r\n\r\nWe used the new resources constantly. The Lego sets became a full-class project: the kids built every set in record time and proudly turned the classroom into a tiny Lego town. They even held daily debates about who got to be the \"mayor,\" which, honestly, was the most political activity I've ever witnessed in a classroom.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was a creativity challenge where students had to invent a Lego gadget to solve a classroom problem, like the mysterious disappearing pencil epidemic. The inventions were wild, impractical, and absolutely brilliant.\r\n\r\nAlthough I no longer work at Travis, the kids there are still enjoying everything so much. The materials continue to be used daily, and the joy (and probably the noise level) lives on.\r\n\r\nAs for what's next, the students are expanding their Lego city, using the games for teamwork lessons, and building stories around their creations. They're still excited, still imaginative, and still giving the remaining furniture a run for its money.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity. You didn't just donate materials, you created moments these kids will remember for a long time.","fullyFundedDate":1726664080688,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-corner/8657985/","projectTitle":"Comfort Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Anwar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9632827"},{"teacherId":3458251,"projectId":9839276,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and our very first STEM Club! It is amazing to see how these small incentives have motivated everyone to do their best and motivate one another. \r\n\r\nTheir excitement was contagious when they saw the new pencils, some of them were ready to use them to get to work. The color printer has been an amazing addition! We can print visuals, projects, and learning materials. Seeing the words displayed with color has made it much easier for students to remember and use them in their writing and discussions.\r\n\r\nThe electric pencil sharpener has been a huge help as well. It keeps pencils ready to go and saves us time, so we can focus more on learning and less on sharpening. Albeit, I would like to convey my success and share my student's success all because of your kind donations.\r\nWe are constantly using the dry erase markers for my vertical learning as well as flip chart markers for poster making and group work. My students learned writing and solving equations and inequalities on butcher paper. They drew algebra tiles models, and graphed inequalities in the number line.\r\nThe glue sticks are also an important part of our daily journal notes as we maintain our interactive notebook in math.\r\nMy students love having Crayola dry-erase markers because they are easier to erase and do not leave any stains on the white boards. My students appreciate always having pencils, and colored papers. These are things they may not always afford to buy. The laminated task cards also come in handy when they are used by different classrooms.\r\nMy students also use Lysol wipes regularly to keep desks and surfaces clean and germ free.\r\nMost of all, my students absolutely love having the fruit snacks, and cheezit crackers for after school tutoring. I am always purchasing snacks weekly for my tutoring students because they do get hungry at the end of the day. \r\nMy students love receiving fun pencils and stickers as rewards for positive behaviors.\r\nI also cannot wait to use the fun pencils, and the fun erasers as motivation this spring semester as we prep our students to take the STAAR test.
