We have used it to make tools for the art room such as texture rubbing plates and texture rollers for clay/foam clay. We have printed blank cuff bracelets for kids to add paint and yarn onto later this school year. We are currently in the middle of a Funko Pop project in which we printed blank funko pop figures and the kids then design their own pop and use foam clay to transform the base pop figure. We are also using the art tools (rollers and texture plates) on a new project for kindergarten in which they use the textures on wings of a butterfly. We love to use kwik stix for many things with the younger grade levels- especially if we are needing to make a background. For instance, the pastels and earth tones really added a wider range of colors for the backgrounds on our armadillos and our roses. The oil pastels are also used a lot with the younger grade levels. We used pastels in our roses to draw spirals. We also used oil pastels in our armadillos in which we drew and colored our armadillos on a scrapbook paper background. Painting can be a challenge for children with fine motor difficulties. Early childhood development tends to emphasize play and process. Using a paintbrush with controlled movements and pressures is difficult!\r\nKwik stix affords us the opportunity to use paints but with a large wide base grip and in the form similar to coloring with a marker. Children can still mix colors and not make a huge mess!\r\nWe have used them a lot with making backgrounds especially.
