Share a specific classroom project or moment.**\r\n\r\nWe are using the new resources to create a celebratory punch card reward system that recognizes students for perseverance, effort, and academic growth. Students earn punches by meeting daily learning objectives, completing assignments, and doing well on exit tickets. One special moment was watching a student continue working through a challenging activity instead of giving up. The student completed the assignment, earned a punch, and proudly celebrated being one step closer to choosing a prize. This system is helping students understand that their effort matters and that obstacles can be overcome through drive, faith, and action.\r\n\r\n**How did your students react when they first saw the materials?**\r\n\r\nThe students were extremely excited when they first saw the materials and learned how the punch card system would work. They immediately began asking questions about how they could earn punches and what prizes they could choose. Their excitement created a positive energy in the classroom and motivated them to focus on their goals. They especially liked knowing that every student would have an opportunity to participate and succeed. The materials made their accomplishments feel visible, meaningful, and worth celebrating.\r\n\r\n**What are the next steps for your students on a current classroom lesson or project?**\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue using the punch cards consistently during daily lessons. Students will work toward mastering learning objectives and demonstrating their understanding through assignments and exit tickets. We will also encourage them to reflect on the effort, choices, and strategies that helped them earn each punch. Once students complete their cards, they will celebrate their progress by selecting a prize. As the project continues, we hope students will become more confident, persistent, and willing to tackle challenging tasks—even when success does not happen immediately.","fullyFundedDate":1746723038524,"projectUrl":"project/students-striving-for-success/9207622/","projectTitle":"Students Striving for Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. J","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9609914_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722029887092","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9609914"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17908","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":461,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":78,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.0,"schoolId":17908,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kennedy Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kennedy Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/houston-independent-school-district/kennedy-elementary-school/17908"}
