Many of my students often come to school without snacks, and having food available during the day has helped ensure they are able to stay focused, energized, and ready to learn. When students are not distracted by hunger, they are much more engaged in lessons and independent practice.\n\nThe headphones have also been incredibly valuable during station time and independent work. In a busy classroom, it can be difficult for students to concentrate with background noise, but the headphones allow them to focus on their own learning tasks without distraction. This has supported stronger independence, especially during listening activities, digital assignments, and small-group rotations.\n\nWhat has been most exciting for students is having their own set of headphones to use consistently. For many, this is a new experience, and they take pride in using them responsibly. It has made learning feel more accessible and enjoyable, especially for students who benefit from audio support or need a quieter space to focus.\n\nSeveral students who are easily distracted or who struggle with focus have especially benefited from this support. I’ve noticed they are more engaged, stay on task longer, and complete work with greater confidence when they are able to use the headphones. Likewise, students who frequently experience hunger during the school day are better able to participate fully in learning when snacks are available.\n\nOverall, the snacks and headphones have helped create a classroom environment where students’ basic needs are supported, allowing them to focus more fully on learning and growth.","fullyFundedDate":1692143171915,"projectUrl":"project/supply-and-support-our-shining-shes-suns/7501852/","projectTitle":"Supply and Support our Shining SHES Suns!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Villarreal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9102496_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778613346207","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9102496"},{"teacherId":9830198,"projectId":9194012,"letterContent":"Thank you again for the generous donation!
