These resources helped create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.\r\n\r\nStudents who previously struggled with focus, anxiety, or sensory overload were better able to regulate their emotions and stay engaged during lessons. With access to sensory tools, disruptions decreased and students were able to concentrate for longer periods of time. Teachers noticed improved behavior, increased participation, and more positive peer interactions.\r\n\r\nThis project also empowered students by giving them appropriate ways to meet their individual sensory needs without feeling singled out. Overall, this project transformed the classroom into a calmer, more productive space where students felt safe, supported, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1756921878474,"projectUrl":"project/creative-thinking-and-sensory/9326561/","projectTitle":"Creative Thinking and Sensory","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jackson-Nichols","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10021339_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757519643343","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10021339"},{"teacherId":9611258,"projectId":9486970,"letterContent":"Thank you for your continued support and understanding in allowing preferential seating in my classroom. This approach has made a meaningful difference in my students' ability to focus, participate, and feel supported in their learning. By placing students where they can best see, hear, and engage with instruction, I have seen increased confidence and improved academic performance across the class.\r\n\r\nPreferential seating has also helped foster stronger relationships between students and their peers, as well as with me as their teacher. Students are more comfortable asking questions, collaborating during activities, and staying on task. This intentional arrangement allows me to better meet individual learning needs while ensuring that every student feels included and valued.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, preferential seating has contributed to a fun, positive, and engaging classroom environment. Students are more motivated, interactive, and excited to learn each day. I truly appreciate the opportunity to use this strategy, as it has had a lasting and positive impact on both classroom culture and student success.","fullyFundedDate":1758202821865,"projectUrl":"project/silly-seating/9486970/","projectTitle":"Silly Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Walker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9611258_orig.png?crop=1024,1024,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753128684830","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9611258"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_14160","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":571,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":75,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":68,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":79.2,"schoolId":14160,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about David Crockett Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"David Crockett Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/goose-creek-consolidated-independent-school-district/david-crockett-elementary-school/14160"}
