When the materials came in, they didn't just see supplies; they saw purpose. We used every item to build out our Emergency Readiness Backpacks together, talking through why each piece matters and how it could help someone in a real situation. One moment that stood out was when a student held up a flashlight and said, \"Somebody might really need this.\" That's when it clicked for them, this wasn't just a classroom activity, this was real impact.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw everything, they were excited, but more than that, they were proud. Proud that they were trusted with something important. Proud that they were able to give back, even while coming from a place where they've had to go without themselves. You gave them more than materials; you gave them the chance to lead, to serve, and to see themselves as part of something bigger than their current situation.\r\n\r\nAnd because of you, we're not stopping here. We are now moving into the next phase, where students will distribute these backpacks within their community and reflect on the impact they've made. We're also tying this into our classroom learning by having students document the process, connect it to real-world problem-solving, and continue building projects focused on safety, wellness, and service. You didn't just fund a project, you helped shift how my students see themselves and what they're capable of.
