I showed them at the start of the school year and the response was epic. \r\n\r\nThe excitement over the Posca markers and alcohol markers I expected. What I did not expect was how much the ink brush pens have been loved. Those have become a go to fave for all of my students. It has emboldened their brush strokes and caused their creativity to blossom. \r\n\r\nMy school is a title 1 school, and many of these expensive tools are out of reach for the day to day use of my students. Your generous donation, but them into day to day reach and has made them feel like true artists. While I understand art can be made with anything- I have a student who works in crayola crayon who will be publishes- it also helps students grow their art skills when they have access to a wide variety of unique art tools that they have never used before. \r\n\r\nNovelty bring innovation and innovation brings development in creativity, problem solving, and confidence. What has made this donation even more special is it was one they earned. My 7th graders know they earned this $500 through their efforts in the Cotton Bowl art contest, and I think it impacts how well they treat. They have seen real tangible, usable results from their art efforts. This has made the art tools special to them beyond words. \r\n\r\nThey next steps will be a 3D project. Two months was not enough time to use all the materials we were able to purchase, and I saved the air dry clay for a special pre- Christmas activity that will introduce them to clay techniques while allowing them to make gifts for parents. As this is something my 6th graders wanted badly to do last year, I can't wait for the reaction when I tell them of the new unity that was made possible through their hard work and your generous donations. \r\n\r\n\r\nThank you for the bottom of my heart,","fullyFundedDate":1775007519945,"projectUrl":"project/cottonbowl-earnings/10133412/","projectTitle":"CottonBowl Earnings","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Crenshaw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10457818"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10379","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":978,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":51,"percentAsian":19,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":45,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":10379,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Austin Academy for Excellence on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Austin Academy for Excellence","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/garland-independent-school-district/austin-academy-for-excellence/10379"}
