I am the librarian at an incredible elementary school that services low income families and I want to make sure my students have a STEM program that will allow them to problem-solve, collaborate, create, and build with their hands. I will create centers for my students with the STEM materials that were donated so all students will get a chance to enjoy all of the materials.\r\n\r\nMy students are a group of diverse learners from a variety of backgrounds and despite the various obstacles that they and their families face, my students come to school every day eager to learn. A lot of the times students do not get a chance to experience hands on learning and that is what my students were lacking. Once I gave them instructions they were able to explore.\r\n\r\nMy next steps are to slowly add more STEM materials to their centers. I also would like to create enjoyable projects that will lasts several weeks so students can build on their critical thinking. Exposing students to STEM projects at an early age sets a foundation for higher learning.
