The pencils, glue sticks, dry erase markers, highlighters, and sticky notes have helped make our lessons more organized, interactive, and engaging. My students were so excited when they saw all the new supplies and were eager to put them to use. One of their favorite activities has been using the dry erase markers during small-group lessons, where they can practice skills, erase their work, and try again with confidence.\r\n\r\nThe laminator and laminating pouches have also allowed me to create durable learning materials that my students can use again and again. We have been able to protect classroom resources, activity cards, and materials for centers and small groups. Moving forward, my students will continue using these supplies as we build their reading, writing, and foundational skills throughout the year. Having dependable classroom materials readily available has made our daily routines run more smoothly and has given my students more opportunities for hands-on learning.","fullyFundedDate":1760446583969,"projectUrl":"project/must-have-supplies-for-a-successful-scho/9542979/","projectTitle":"Must-Have Supplies for a Successful School Year","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bazan Pulido","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10114258"},{"teacherId":10114258,"projectId":9670402,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for making this project possible for my first graders! We have been using the snacks, squishies, finger puppets, and mini stuffed animals as part of our classroom reward system. My students earn classroom money for completing their work, showing responsibility, following expectations, and making positive choices. They were so excited when they first saw all the new items and could not wait for their opportunity to save and shop!\r\n\r\nThese resources have also given us a fun way to introduce important financial literacy skills at an early age. Students are learning to count their classroom money, compare the cost of different items, decide whether to spend or save, and make thoughtful choices. Our next steps are to continue building these skills as students become more independent with managing their classroom money.","fullyFundedDate":1758720058151,"projectUrl":"project/teaching-money-skills-with-classroom-rew/9670402/","projectTitle":"Teaching Money Skills With Classroom Rewards","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bazan Pulido","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10114258"},{"teacherId":10114258,"projectId":9670495,"letterContent":"These new books have brought so much excitement and meaningful learning to our classroom. My students are using the stories to practice important skills such as identifying emotions, making connections, discussing characters' feelings, and learning healthy ways to calm down and manage big emotions. The touch-and-feel books have been especially helpful because they give students a hands-on reading experience while building vocabulary and encouraging curiosity.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom now extends into our sensory corner, where students can enjoy a book while taking a quiet break and preparing to return to learning. Some of my students who need extra opportunities to reset are especially enjoying the interactive books, emotion plush toys, and sensory materials. The new phonics and leveled readers have completely transformed reading time in our classroom. These books are helping my first graders practice decoding, build fluency, and strengthen comprehension through fun and meaningful stories. We're using them to introduce phonics patterns, short and long vowels, and sight word recognition all key skills for beginning readers. The new bookshelf has also made it easier for students to find books that match their level and interests, making reading time something they look forward to every day.\r\nIt's been wonderful to see how much my students are enjoying these books. One student who struggled to read at the start of the year now asks to read Pete the Cat stories during independent time. Another student has gained confidence by reading Biscuit books aloud to a partner. Watching their faces light up as they finish a book on their own is the best reward. Your generosity has helped create a positive reading culture in our classroom, and I can't thank you enough for giving my students this opportunity to grow and love reading.","fullyFundedDate":1754874279511,"projectUrl":"project/a-reading-boost-with-books-theyll-love/9543133/","projectTitle":"A Reading Boost With Books They’ll Love","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bazan Pulido","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10114258"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15550","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":309,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":88,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 1","studentTeacherRatio":"17.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":15550,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Apache Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Apache Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/fort-stockton-independent-school-district/apache-elementary-school/15550"}
