It has given my students their own personal space to sit and listen to our daily large group lessons such as learning phonics, social studies, science and math. They also have enjoyed cuddling up with a plush pillow and a great book such as Brown Bear Brown Bear during our Drop Everything And Read time. \r\n\r\nThe principal brought the carpet in right before the students left for specials so, while they were gone, I rolled it out and had it waiting when they returned. The joy they expressed was so awesome. They immediately ask if they could sit on the carpet. We opened the box of Eric Carle books and they each chose a book to look at that fit their particular reading level. They enjoyed reading to each other and discussing the artwork each book displayed. \r\n\r\nAt the end of each year we do and Eric Carle author study. The new additions to our library will allow the students to hold each book, read or listen to the story it tells, and compare and contrast the artwork.","fullyFundedDate":1785811924107,"projectUrl":"project/kerbys-campers-literacy-camp/10307557/","projectTitle":"Kerby's Campers Literacy Camp","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kerby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9503953"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_13768","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":259,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":58,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":53,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":25.0,"schoolId":13768,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Farwell Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Farwell Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/farwell-independent-school-district/farwell-elementary-school/13768"}
