They couldn't wait to scoop, pour, dig, build, and create. The new materials have already brought lots of smiles and excitement to our classroom.\r\n\r\nOur students will use the sandboxes during outdoor learning and play. As they play, they will practice sharing, taking turns, communicating with their friends, and using their imagination. They will also build important fine-motor skills as they use shovels, buckets, molds, and other sand tools.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue exploring the sand through hands-on activities. We will encourage our students to describe what they are doing, learn new vocabulary, count and compare, and work together to create different sand structures.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make learning fun and giving our students the opportunity to learn through play! The new bins have already made a meaningful difference in our daily routine. We are using them to organize students' extra clothes as well as classroom materials, which has helped create a more structured and accessible environment. One special moment that stood out was watching students take initiative in cleaning up and putting materials back in their designated spaces. With everything clearly organized, they are building independence and pride in caring for their classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were excited and eager to use them right away. They especially enjoyed having clearly labeled spaces for their belongings, which made them feel more responsible and capable. The snacks have also been incredibly impactful. They provide students with the energy they need to stay focused throughout the day, and they ensure that those who may not always have food from home still feel supported and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue reinforcing routines that promote independence and responsibility. Students will keep practicing organization skills and collaborative cleanup as part of our daily lessons. My students were beyond thrilled to receive and open the boxes full of various and delicious snacks. When the boxes first arrived, their curiosity peaked into animated anticipation given that the snacks are not typically what they eat on a daily basis. I discussed with them what each package of goodies contained. My students excitedly munched and thoroughly enjoyed their individual snacks as they chatted enthusiastically with each other about them. The snacks not only give them a continuous boost of energy for the long school day, but they are able to learn while eating. Vibrant conversations about colors, shapes, and flavors are abundant during snack time. My PreK students have happy bellies and energized minds that allow them to conquer each learning day thank you to your kind consideration.","fullyFundedDate":1766067707617,"projectUrl":"project/hungry-hungry-kiddos/9954669/","projectTitle":"Hungry, Hungry Kiddos!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zuñiga","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6742698_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1765778794872","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6742698"},{"teacherId":9537314,"projectId":10036641,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support of our classroom through the donation of sensory toys and snacks. We are already using these new resources every day, and they have made an immediate difference. Students use sensory tools during independent work, small-group instruction, and moments when they need help regulating their emotions. One meaningful moment was during a writing block, when a student who often struggles to stay focused was able to calmly complete an entire assignment while using a sensory tool. The snacks are used in the afternoon, helping students recharge so they can stay engaged and participate fully in lessons.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were excited and grateful. Many students immediately recognized how the sensory toys could help them feel calmer or more focused, and several students expressed how relieved they were to have snacks available later in the day. Their excitement quickly turned into responsible use, as they understood these resources were meant to support their learning and well-being.\r\n\r\nBecause these basic needs are being met, my students are now better prepared to move forward with current classroom lessons and projects. With improved focus and emotional regulation, students are able to engage more deeply in reading, writing, and collaborative activities. The next steps include building stamina for longer learning blocks and working together on group projects that require sustained attention and cooperation.
