The Little Tikes ride-on cars, seesaws, Tonka trucks, play sand, and beach toys have quickly become some of the most loved materials in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe students were absolutely thrilled when they first saw the new items. Their eyes lit up with excitement, and they could hardly wait to explore everything. As soon as the materials were introduced, students began working together, taking turns on the ride-on cars and seesaws, and creating imaginative construction sites and sand creations with the Tonka trucks and beach toys.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group of students collaborate in the sand area. They worked together to build roads, bridges, and construction zones using the trucks and sand tools. Through play, they practiced communication, problem-solving, sharing, and teamwork. The ride-on cars have also encouraged active play while helping students develop coordination and gross motor skills.\r\n\r\nThese resources have transformed our outdoor learning space into an engaging environment where students can learn through exploration and play. Our next steps include incorporating the materials into lessons that promote social-emotional learning, cooperative play, language development, and STEM concepts such as building, measuring, and creating structures in the sand.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided our students with opportunities to learn, imagine, and grow in ways that extend far beyond the classroom walls. Thank you for supporting our students and helping create joyful learning experiences they will remember for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1774963792379,"projectUrl":"project/learning-grows-outside-outdoor-play-for/10050169/","projectTitle":"Learning Grows Outside: Outdoor Play for Our Preschool Explorers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jion Dual Language Pre-K","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6220084_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y54&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769206045242","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsbustosjion"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_98217","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":834,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":28,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":67,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.4,"schoolId":98217,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lundy Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lundy Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/el-paso-independent-school-district/lundy-elementary-school/98217"}
