Because of these valuable resources, students have been able to participate in a variety of engaging and meaningful classroom activities.\r\nAt the beginning of the spring semester, students completed a sewing activity using felt and sewing needles. For many of them, this was their first experience with sewing, and they were excited to learn a new skill. Recently, I observed one student independently applying what he learned by mending his own clothing after completing his classwork. This moment highlighted how these hands-on skills are not only impactful in the classroom, but also transferable to real-life situations and will continue to be used as needed.\r\nThroughout the semester, students have also been using the markers for both group and individual projects. These materials are readily available, allowing students to express their creativity while demonstrating their understanding of classroom concepts. The first class to use the markers was especially enthusiastic, and students have consistently taken excellent care of the supplies. Many have expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the donors who made these opportunities possible.\r\nLastly, the watercolor supplies were incorporated into a stress management unit through a guided art lesson in one of the classes. During this activity, students were calm, focused, and fully engaged. In the coming weeks, the remaining classes will also be using the watercolor supplies as part of the same unit.\r\nOverall, my students and I are extremely grateful for your support and generosity. Without your contributions, these lessons would not have been possible, and students would not have had the opportunity to develop the skills introduced in the classroom. Thank you again for your kindness and support. God bless you.","fullyFundedDate":1765828696851,"projectUrl":"project/learning-life-skills/9884826/","projectTitle":"Learning Life Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tijerina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4849167_orig.jpg?crop=2058,2058,x0,y795&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633285524625","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4849167"},{"teacherId":4849167,"projectId":9885654,"letterContent":"Thank you for providing the much needed resources for the project to be a possibility. Students learned about table etiquette, manners and how to set the table using the charcuterie boards along with the silverware provided. First, I provided the information of the different types of table set up from informal to formal, and how to proper place each utensil at the table. As a group, students were able to put the lesson into practice by setting up on their own. Then, they were assessed about the content. Finally, they worked into designing their charcuterie board in terms where they would place their food items.\r\n When students first received the charcuterie boards, they were very delighted and were eager in designing their boards. The day they got to use the boards, they started right away getting the food items specifically arranged based on their design. They enjoyed the lesson and were very grateful for the donation. Students stated how using the charcuterie boards allowed them to reinforced what they had learned that week. \r\n Currently, students are in another course named interpersonal studies and will be learning a multitude of lessons that impact their life such as career search, budgeting, forming a healthy family, stress management, employability skills, among other skills that are much needed during these years. Definitely, the activity we did with the charcuterie boards helped students apply skills taught in class which will be useful for them.
