Some students are now able to identify more uppercase and lowercase letters and recognize familiar letter sounds. Others are doing a better job answering questions about a story, recalling important details, and explaining what they think happened. I have also noticed students using new vocabulary from our books during classroom conversations and play.\r\n\r\nReading is a special part of our classroom. We read together during whole-group lessons, small groups, and throughout the day. My students love looking at the pictures, making comments about the story, answering questions, and sharing their ideas.\r\n\r\nSome students who were initially hesitant to participate in story time are now excited to choose books, look through the pages, and tell their own version of the story.
