Because of your generosity, my students have been able to experience science through meaningful, hands-on activities that engage their curiosity and make learning exciting. Many of my students learn best through sensory experiences and active participation, so having opportunities to touch, observe, explore, and experiment has made an incredible difference in their understanding and enthusiasm for the subject.\r\n\r\nThe activities and materials you provided have allowed my students to connect classroom lessons to real-world experiences in a way that traditional instruction alone cannot achieve. Instead of simply reading about scientific concepts, they are now able to see them happening right before their eyes. One of their favorite experiences was planting and caring for seeds while learning about plant growth and life cycles. Watching the plants sprout and grow each day gave them a sense of responsibility, excitement, and pride. They eagerly checked on their plants every morning, discussed changes they noticed, and made predictions about what would happen next. These moments created authentic learning experiences that helped science become both understandable and memorable.\r\n\r\nAnother unforgettable opportunity was learning how to use a microscope. For many of my students, this was their very first time looking through one. Their faces lit up with amazement as they discovered tiny details they had never noticed before. What could have been just another lesson from a textbook became an engaging experience filled with wonder and curiosity. They asked thoughtful questions, shared observations with their peers, and became excited about investigating the world around them. Experiences like these help build confidence, critical thinking skills, and a genuine love for learning.\r\n\r\nYour support has also helped foster collaboration, communication, and problem-solving among my students. Through these hands-on activities, they are learning to work together, make observations, ask questions, and think like scientists. These are skills that will continue to benefit them far beyond the classroom. Most importantly, your generosity has shown my students that their learning matters and that others believe in their potential.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my classroom and in the future of my students. Because of your kindness, science is no longer just a subject they study — it is something they experience, explore, and enjoy. The joy, excitement, and confidence these opportunities have brought to my students are gifts that will continue to impact them long after this school year ends. Your support has created meaningful memories and learning experiences that my students and I will always be grateful for.","fullyFundedDate":1767135983283,"projectUrl":"project/see-the-able-not-the-label-stem-for-spe/9677507/","projectTitle":"See the Able Not the Label STEM for Special Education","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Griggs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9583956_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720182746090","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9583956"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12977","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":695,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":55,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":24,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"13.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":12977,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about B McDaniel Intemediate School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"B McDaniel Intemediate School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/denison-independent-school-district/b-mcdaniel-middle-school/12977"}
