The Cricut Maker has opened up exciting new possibilities across our art classes—students are designing intricate vinyl transfers, layering precise shapes into their drawings, and even creating surface designs for ceramic pieces. One memorable moment was watching students collaborate around the Cricut, helping each other turn digital designs into physical artwork with a level of precision they had never experienced before.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, students were immediately curious and eager to try them out. The setup—with the standing desk and organized supply cart—made the space feel professional and accessible, giving students confidence to experiment. Many of our Dual Language learners and Deaf and Hard of Hearing students especially benefited from the visual and hands-on nature of the tool, allowing them to engage more deeply and independently.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue integrating this technology into larger projects across AP 2D, Drawing, 3D Art, and Ceramics, pushing their ideas even further. With the addition of rolling carts, storage bins, and new pottery tools, students are now able to easily access materials and keep track of their in-progress pieces. During a recent wheel-throwing project, the splash pans and sponge packs made a noticeable difference—students were able to focus on technique without worrying about mess, and cleanup became a shared, manageable part of the process. The improved setup has allowed more students to participate in advanced projects with confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were excited and immediately eager to put everything to use. The drill and tool sets have also come in handy for quick studio fixes and even helping students build simple display stands for their finished work.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were genuinely excited—especially about the stools and tools that made the space feel more professional and cared for. One standout moment was when a student tested a rib they designed themselves and used it to shape a mug on the pottery wheel—the excitement of seeing a digital idea become a functional, physical tool was unforgettable. These resources have allowed students to truly experience the intersection of engineering and art in a hands-on, meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were immediately curious and eager to experiment. They were especially excited by the multi-color filament and the ability to customize tools that are traditionally store-bought. Many students who hadn't previously shown interest in ceramics or design became deeply engaged, collaborating, sketching ideas, and refining their prototypes. The classroom has become a space of exploration, problem-solving, and pride in craftsmanship.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue refining their designs based on real-world use, improving their rib tools and applying them to more complex ceramic pieces.
