The mud kitchen, playhouse, and stepping stones have given them opportunities to create, explore, take risks, solve problems, and—most importantly—lead their own play.\r\n\r\nWhen the mud kitchen arrived, my students were immediately excited. They began collecting leaves, sticks, flowers, dirt, and water to create their own \"recipes.\" What started as making mud pies quickly became a rich imaginary world: students opened a \"restaurant,\" decided who would be the chef and the customers, created menus, negotiated roles, and proudly served their creations to their friends. I loved watching children who are sometimes quieter in the classroom become confident leaders outdoors.\r\n\r\nThe playhouse has become another favorite space. Students use it as a home, a classroom, a store, and sometimes simply a quiet place to talk with a friend. The stepping stones have encouraged children to experiment with balance, movement, and different ways of navigating space. They challenge themselves, watch their friends, and celebrate when they master something that was difficult the first time.\r\n\r\nThese resources are much more than outdoor toys. They are supporting language development, social-emotional learning, motor development, creativity, problem-solving, cooperation, and independence through meaningful play.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make that possible. You have given my three-year-olds something incredibly valuable: space and materials to be curious, creative, capable learners.","fullyFundedDate":1786620186754,"projectUrl":"project/from-mud-pies-to-big-minds-building-our/10205059/","projectTitle":"From Mud Pies to Big Minds: Building Our Dream Playground","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Suanzes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8098056_orig.png?crop=996,996,x0,y29&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723306564915","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8098056"},{"teacherId":8257340,"projectId":10422534,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our \"Hands-On Math Adventures\" project. My kindergarten students were so excited when they first saw the new math centers. They immediately wanted to explore the colorful sequencing puzzles, tactile number activities, and measurement materials. These resources have made our math center time more engaging and have given students opportunities to practice important skills while learning through play and hands-on exploration.\r\nWe are using the materials during small-group instruction and independent math centers. It has been wonderful to watch students work together to put numbers in order, match quantities to numerals, compare measurements, and solve problems. The hands-on activities have been especially helpful for students who need to see and touch objects to better understand mathematical concepts. I have also seen their confidence grow as they complete activities independently and proudly share their thinking.\r\nAs we continue through the school year, we will build on these skills and use the centers to reinforce the concepts we learn during our daily math lessons. Thank you, donors, for giving my students meaningful opportunities to explore, practice, and develop a love of mathematics. Your generosity has made a wonderful difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1786366854695,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-math-adventures/10422534/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Math Adventures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Riedel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8257340_orig.jpg?crop=542,542,x36,y58&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1641168185331","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8257340"},{"teacherId":9029708,"projectId":10015524,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom! Having the opportunity to earn LEGO time has become a wonderful motivation for them to stay focused, complete their work, and make good use of their class time.\r\n\r\nWhat I love most is seeing how their well-earned break turns into another opportunity to learn.
