The seat pockets provide students with an organized, personal space to store frequently used materials such as notebooks, folders, and pencils. \r\nWhen the donations arrived, the students were genuinely excited. Many students expressed how \"grown-up\" and responsible they felt having a designated place for their materials. This excitement translated into increased ownership of the classroom and a stronger sense of responsibility for keeping materials neat and ready to use.","fullyFundedDate":1758202602018,"projectUrl":"project/making-math-space/9622082/","projectTitle":"Making Math Space!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Walton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5791981_orig.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1606269071479","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5791981"},{"teacherId":8295383,"projectId":9419681,"letterContent":"Thank You for the Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro!\r\nDear generous donors,\r\n\r\nThank you so much for funding our project, \"A Cut Above: Enhancing Learning with a Cutting Machine!\" The arrival of the Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro has been a game-changer for our Pre-K 4 students at Umphrey Lee Elementary. The students were immediately fascinated by the new, high-quality materials, with one student exclaiming that the shapes looked like they \"came from a store!\" This quality elevates their engagement and makes learning feel exciting and special.\r\n\r\nThe new machine has allowed me to create custom, hands-on activities that directly target our learning goals. A recent project on letter recognition was transformed when I used the Cameo to cut large, durable felt letters and corresponding picture pockets. Seeing the students successfully match the initial sound of an object to the correct giant felt letter was a moment of true pride, demonstrating how tactile, custom-made materials deepen their understanding. The Cameo allows me to produce these large, classroom-grade resources that small hands can easily manipulate, supporting essential fine motor development.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve using your generous gift to enhance our unit on identifying and sequencing shapes. We will be creating custom, interlocking magnetic puzzle pieces of different shapes (circles, squares, triangles) cut from magnet sheets. This will allow the students to work collaboratively to build large \"shape murals\" on our classroom board, practicing their fine motor skills and spatial reasoning while learning the properties of each shape. \r\n\r\nThank you for making these essential, hands-on learning moments possible for every four- and five-year-old in our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1758127379484,"projectUrl":"project/a-cut-above-enhancing-learning-with-a-c/9419681/","projectTitle":"A Cut Above: Enhancing Learning with a Cutting Machine","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Martinez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8295383_orig.jpg?crop=432,432,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1738959527154","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8295383"},{"teacherId":7756673,"projectId":8561187,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our 2nd-grade classroom has been transformed into an exciting and engaging learning environment. Many people are familiar with using technology at home, but in our classroom, it's being used as a powerful tool to enhance student learning in meaningful ways. Whether students are practicing math facts, exploring science topics, or building literacy skills, the technology you helped provide allows them to work at their own pace, collaborate with peers, and stay actively engaged throughout the day.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest hits in our room has been the new writing boards. The kids absolutely love using them during our small group and independent work time. They make practicing handwriting, spelling, and math so much more fun and hands-on. The classroom rug has also been a favorite—students love gathering on it for lessons, reading, and discussions. It's not only a comfortable space but also helps create a sense of community in our classroom. One student who used to be shy about participating has really opened up during our rug discussions and now raises her hand with confidence. These resources are making a real impact, and I'm so grateful for your support in bringing them to our students.","fullyFundedDate":1729912221291,"projectUrl":"project/help-level-up-our-safe-space/8561187/","projectTitle":"Help Level Up Our Safe Space","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Walker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7756673_orig.png?crop=816,816,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690993859014","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7756673"},{"teacherId":2390026,"projectId":9138033,"letterContent":"Thank you one more time for funding our project. All of the students grew academically and reached their end of the year goals.\r\n\r\nMy students were exited when they got their prices and celebrations. They got sunglasses and personalized water bottles for their filed day, a sand bucket with chalk, beach balls, and bubbles, and an end of the year goodie bag with a sketch board, a scented pencil and eraser. In addition to that, they had a classroom party in which they got to use the glow bracelets, glasses, and fidget spinners.
