It's hard to build and program on an empty stomach, and having those snacks on hand meant the students could actually stay focused and powered up during those long after-school hours. Instead of getting tired or distracted, they were able to really dive into their work, collaborating and fine-tuning their robots without hitting that mid-afternoon wall. Honestly, having that extra fuel made all the difference in keeping their energy high and their brains sharp.\r\n\r\nThat steady energy definitely paid off when it came time for the competition! The girls did an incredible job, taking home awards for their detailed engineering notebook and the Judges' Award for how well they tackled and solved problems. On the other side, the boys crushed it in the arena, landing 3rd place for the most points scored by their robot. Seeing both teams walk away with trophies was amazing, and it's clear that being well-fed was the secret ingredient to their concentration and success.","fullyFundedDate":1761854315139,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-focus-snacks-for-our-robotics-t/9856487/","projectTitle":"Fueling Focus: Snacks for Our Robotics Team","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lopez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6900847_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y160&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1571500368494","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6900847"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16096","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":445,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"27.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.8,"schoolId":16096,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rosemont School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rosemont School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/dallas-independent-school-district/rosemont-elementary-school/16096"}
