We discussed carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and sugar content. We also discussed the concept of calories and serving sizes. \r\n\r\nWhen my students saw the assortment of options, they were thrilled! The laminating pouches we received will help protect their work from wear and tear throughout the years. \r\n\r\nMy younger students are still learning to store their materials safely, so laminated resources are great for withstanding their excitement. The students in my upper-grade classes appreciate having laminated materials because they love being able to keep everything in their TAG journals and AVID binders clean and well-organized. \r\n\r\nPart of the fundraiser was held back (low stock in laminating pouches), so I just updated our order to include fruit snacks, a planetary display, and a rolling cart. My 5th-grade students are SO excited to have a 3D planetary model for their solar system studies. The rolling cart will be used to re-create our kindness station, which my students love to use to build thank-you notes and birthday cards for their peers and teachers. I use it daily to create engaging presentations tailored to the content we're studying, making learning more interactive and accessible for my students. It has been especially effective in small group settings, where I can use it to provide targeted instruction and real-time feedback. Additionally, I've incorporated gamification into our lessons using the iPad, transforming traditional activities into exciting challenges that motivate and engage my students. This resource has not only enhanced my teaching but also enriched my students' learning experiences.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite classroom moments since receiving the iPad happened during a small group math session. We were exploring fractions, a topic that can be challenging for some students, and I used an interactive app to illustrate concepts visually. As the students manipulated the virtual fraction bars on the screen, their understanding deepened, and I saw their confidence grow. One student, who often struggles with math, exclaimed, \"This makes so much more sense now!\" Moments like this remind me how impactful the right tools can be in unlocking a student's potential.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I'm excited to continue growing my skills in incorporating technology into the classroom. With the iPad, I'm eager to explore new apps and digital resources that can further personalize learning and make our lessons even more dynamic. I'm also looking forward to teaching a science unit on ecosystems, where I plan to use the iPad to take virtual field trips and create interactive projects that will bring the topic to life for my students. Thank you for giving us a resource that continues to inspire creativity and learning every day.","fullyFundedDate":1712064406957,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-education-transformative-lea/8154467/","projectTitle":"Empowering Education: Transformative Learning With iPads","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. de Rozas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8296851_orig.jpg?crop=400,400,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1643160587109","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8296851"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18175","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":333,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":95,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.5,"schoolId":18175,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about L.O.
